February 14, 2010 - Universal Motown artist Erykah Badu has released "Window Seat," the lead single from her upcoming album NEW AMERYKAH PART TWO: RETURN OF THE ANKH. The track is now available at iTunes and erykahbadu.com. The multi-platinum-selling, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter-producer-actress' highly anticipated fifth studio album, NEW AMERYKAH PART TWO: RETURN OF THE ANKH, will be released on 3-30-2010 AD (3.3.3).

"Window Seat" was produced by Erykah Badu and James Poyser with Ahmir "?uestove" Thompson from The Roots on drums. Together, they represent 3/10 of the SOULQUARIANS hip-hop music collective. With lyrics like, "If anybody speak to Scotty, tell him beam me up… I just want a ticket out of town to look around," Vibe.com describes "Window Seat" as a throwback soul groove that's driven by a live jazz bassline (a theme throughout NEW AMERYKAH PT. II). The smooth sound of the infectious single—which Okayplayer.com hails as a "mellowed out anthem" for railway commuters, frequent flyers, and bus riders—coaxes listeners to sit back and enjoy the ride.

In contrast to 2008's New Amerykah, Part One: 4th World War, which was digitally produced and political in tone, NEW AMERYKAH PART TWO: RETURN OF THE ANKH features lush live instrumentation and taps into Badu's emotional side by thematically focusing on romance and relationships. "With Part One, I was standing at an apex, looking at what was going on around me politically, socially, and economically," Badu explained.
