June 14, 2008 - After being co-signed by XXL as one of ‘Hip-Hop's Next Superstars’, Crooked I has teamed up with Akon, and Konvict Music in-house producer Detail, to deliver the inspirational ‘Dream Big’. The debut single from one of the most anticipated albums in raps history; B.O.S.S. (Beginning Of Something Serious). After fulfilling his contract obligation that held him hostage for four years at Death Row Records, the Long Beach, Californian emcee joins the likes of The Game, Glasses Malone and Guerilla Black, to bring California back to the promise land.
Crooked I enjoyed a tidal wave of industry acclaim in 2007/08 with his monumental series ‘Hip-Hop Weekly’ and its back to back weekly freestyles. XXL magazine listed and co-signed Hip-Hop's Next Superstars or "Leaders of the New School" in their November 07' issue, he was 1 of 10 artists listed, and was featured on the cover. At the 2008, 11th Annual Mixtape Awards in New York, he walked away with the ‘Best West Coast Mixtape Artist’ award.
‘Dream Big’ comes on the back of this recognition and alongside a cover story in this months Source Magazine (June 08’). The record is impacting radio now, and featured on all major music network websites, currently topping the 'HipHopDX.com Most Played' chart with over 130,000 listens.
