GANGSTASPARTY.com: 1) Introduce us: JIBBA JAWZ
JIBBA JAWZ:We'll...first I'd like to thank you for having me here...and given
the opportunity to reveal myself internationally. I guess the best way
to introduce myself is by letting everyone know that I'm a committed
producer in the hip-hop scene. A true laid back individual with a lot to
offer the ever growing popularity of the game. I try to be as original
as my mind will allow....creating sounds and rhythms that will appeal to
the masses....in other I just try to be a dope ass muthafuka!!!
GANGSTASPARTY.com: 2) How'd you get your start in "Urban Music" Scene?
JIBBA JAWZ: Well I started around 16...at first I wasn't producing...I was
actually rhyming. I used that to channel a lot of what I had
inside...out into the world. Through my teenage years I kept a strong
distance from others...it's almost like I felt as if I didn't belong in
any crowd. Hip-hop wasn't as big back then...well at least in the Miami
scene. After a while it started gaining more popularity and more & more
people began to get in the game. I noticed this and I felt that if I
started producing my own music...it would categorize me in a different
slot as others. I actually released my first album in 2003 titled
"Welcome To The World Of..." I produced almost the entire album. By then
I figured I needed a change... a "musical facelift" if you will. So I
started working and focusing more on production. Basically it got to the
point where people where coming up to me asking for beats. Right then
and there I knew I had to do this full time.
GANGSTASPARTY.com: 3) How would u describe your productions? What and who are your influences?
JIBBA JAWZ: My production is a product of what I feel, what I see and hear. It's
pure emotion...internal drive, passion. I don't think that I can do what
I do if I wasn't who I am today. I wouldn't be able to feel a drum kick
or a snare as intense as I do...if I would have never gone through what
I have in life...it's struggles, seeing myself with nothing on my side.
It pushes me to create what I have in my mind. Whether it be a dance
track, a hard and dark track or a light r&b joint. Inspiration for me is
people like DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Dr. Dre. I want to have their
longevity. I want to maintain the same level of respect for the game as
they do. Others include Just Blaze, Scott Storch, Rza, Kanye West,
Hi-Tek, Timbaland, The Neptunes, 9th Wonder. They keep me going as
well.
GANGSTASPARTY.com: 4) What project you got in the mix and when can we expect it to drop?
JIBBA JAWZ: Well right now I'm working on a mixtape. It's called "S.H.O.K.
Therapy...Change Gon' Come V.1". I'm working with a lot of talented
individuals mainly from Miami. I felt like I should showcase my talent
with the hottest of where I'm from. I got people like Smitty, Cubo, Rok
Bottom, Sofla Kingz, Wes Fif, T.H.C...the list goes on. I have a mixture
of Hip-hop, Rnb, even Reggaeton...which is basically spanish hip-hop.
That's the reason why I get labeled the most versatile in the game I
guess...I love doing all genres. But I won't lie...it's been a challenge
coordinating all of it due to everyone's hectic schedules. But I know
once it's done...it's going to be widely respected. It's expected to
drop before the year is over.
GANGSTASPARTY.com: 5) Introduce us S.H.O.K. Entertainment: let's talk something about it..
JIBBA JAWZ: S.H.O.K. Ent. Is the label ran by Jackle X. Me and him basically
started hustling together...trying to get the name out. We went to
middle school & high school together. Then about a year after we left
high school he calls me up. He asked if I was still rhyming...I said
"yes". He told me that he wanted to do the whole music thing and he was
going to school for music business. We linked up and he told me that he
wanted to manage me in the game... "put me out there" if you will. I was
down for it so we kept pushing it until now. It's been crazy...you
definitely need a lot of dedication and drive. So now we are at the level
where we know what we want and how to get it. But even then it's still
hard. We just gotta keep grinding!!
GANGSTASPARTY.com: 6) You seem to be very popular among the myspace crowd, how does
it feel that everybody loves your production?
JIBBA JAWZ: It's crazy!!! You start seeing how many people outside your circle
actually dig your shit. Their responses are genuine...they don't have to
take time to post something on my page to let me know that they feel my
music. But it's been surreal. Without the people that listen and
appreciate and support your music...you would be no body in the music
business. I'm grateful for the fans. They keep me motivated in so many
ways.
GANGSTASPARTY.com: 7) Tell us something about your future projects
JIBBA JAWZ: I really don't have anything concrete just yet. I'm sort of living
for the moment and working day by day on music that I feel is dope. I
can say that I would like to venture into more genres. I would like to
work on a rock song. Simply because its live music. I think it will be
challenging and I would love to achieve something on that level.
