GANGSTASPARTY.com: 1) Let's talk about the beginning of your career… would u like to change anything about it?
VINNIE PAZ: i started rapping after i heard a record called "this cut's got flavor" by LATEE. that was around 87. up until then i was just into being a b-boy. when i heard that record, it changed my life. that's when i knew i wanted to be a rapper. i wouldnt change anything about my early career. it made us who we are today.
GANGSTASPARTY.com: 2) How did u meet?
VINNIE PAZ: STOUPE and i met through a mutual friend. the 3 of us were a group, but our homeboy decided to go off to college and study english literature, so that left me and stoupe.
GANGSTASPARTY.com: 3) Where do you get your inspiration from?
VINNIE PAZ: that's kind of a broad question. inspiration comes from everywhere: life, books, film, family, love, hate. everything around us influences what we do.
GANGSTASPARTY.com: 4) What do u feel to say about the “Superegular Recordings”?
VINNIE PAZ: Superegular was just something we started to get our music heard. we were just 5 high school friends who loved music. we worked really hard and our work paid off. it helped us get signed and that was the intention from the beginning.
GANGSTASPARTY.com: 5) Tell us something about your great success entitled "Visions of Gandhi" (Babygrande Records)
VINNIE PAZ: that was the first record where we really had some serious money to work with. we were used to recording in bedrooms and basements and shit, but with that record we recorded at the legendary chung king studios in NYC. we had more time, and we had more freedom. it was mad fun making that record.
GANGSTASPARTY.com: 6) What do u feel to say about your collaboration with Babygrande’s artists?
VINNIE PAZ: CANIBUS is family. OUTERSPACE are my brothers, so it's not an "industry" thing. we all respect each other and that's why we do joints together.
GANGSTASPARTY.com: 7) Tell us something about your latest release entitled "Legacy of Blood”..and how was it borne?
VINNIE PAZ: i'm really proud of this record. just hardcore, boom-bap shit. nothing more, nothing less. just raw power.
GANGSTASPARTY.com: 8) Since the first album to the forthcoming album… What has changed in u?
VINNIE PAZ: i'm still the same person. with each record you grow creatively and you grow emotionally. we still do the same shit. drink beer, get high, and make records. that's probably how it'll always be.
GANGSTASPARTY.com: 9) Is there a rapper that would u like to work with?
VINNIE PAZ: JADAKISS
GANGSTASPARTY.com: 10) Tell us something about your future projects
VINNIE PAZ: we have a group record coming out called ARMY OF THE PHARAOHS. it's some wu-tang type shit, all of my familia on there: apathy, 7L and ESO, outerspace, celph titled, kingsyze, kamachi, reef the lost cauze, JMT, and some other fam i'm bringing out. it'll be out real soon.
GANGSTASPARTY.com: 11) a free message to Rap/Hip Hop/R&B community
