GANGSTASPARTY.com:You've been featured on several mixtapes, how important have they been for your career so far?
GEOLANI: Mixtapes always play a major roll in your career. I have a fan base and I have not even inked a major deal yet. I think my grind is serious, I have been on over 175 mixtapes in the last 8 to 9 months.
GANGSTASPARTY.com:What projects are you currently working on?
GEOLANI:Right now I'm working on my album "Who's The Boss?" . Just dropped a mixtape hosted by Dj Vlad called "Every Man Ain't A God Dam Boss". Getting ready to drop another mixtape hosted by Dj Wats aka Watsman with my artist Montega called "Am I Mah Brothers' Keeper?" And I'm getting ready to drop my debut single called "She Is Music" prod by Capp N Kidd Wonder.
GANGSTASPARTY.com:What direction are you planning to take with your career?
GEOLANI:I'm really more about my business. I just know how to rap and make songs. And I get love from the streets. But to answer ya question I am trying to be G-Diddy in this game, nah mean. Put artist out and run my label.
GANGSTASPARTY.com: How do you feel about the current state of hip hop in NY right now and what should be changed?
GEOLANI: Queen Latifah said it best! U-N-I-T-Y …. Too much hating going on. Instead of getting paper together, everyone tryna run N.Y. People asking how can NY support Down South music when there's a million rappers in our city. The answer is there is no UNITY. Get off the ego trip and lets get paid!
GANGSTASPARTY.com:How do you feel about hip hop beefs?
GEOLANI:Truthfully, I love listen to beefs. But it should be all about entertainment. Ya'll forget that "Rappers" are all thugged out???? (laughs). Or at least act like it. It will never be just entertainment. Niggas is from the streets. "Talk about me and get mummy rapped". That's the mentality.
GANGSTASPARTY.com: How important is money in hip hop for you is it all about the money or the love?
GEOLANI: If it was about money I would not be talking to you right now. I just love this music shit. I guess I know what a fiend goes through now. It's like I got something to prove and I won't stop until I make it happen.
GANGSTASPARTY.com: If you could put any 2 MC's on a track alive or dead including yourself who would it be?
GEOLANI: Big Pun and Jay-Z
GANGSTASPARTY.com: There are a lot of highly anticipated albums for 06. Personally whose joint can you not wait to hear?
GEOLANI: I'm trying to hear that new Styles P album, or the Dr Dre jump off.
GANGSTASPARTY.com: What do you think makes an artist more successful spins or promotions?
GEOLANI: Promotions gets the artist exposure and known. Spins will get that artist a deal!! You definitely need both.
GANGSTASPARTY.com: This part of the interview goes like this; I give you a word or statement and
you give your view on it…It is basically a quote. Example... "Defining year in your career" - my most defining moment in my career was when I got signed to Def Jam.
GANGSTASPARTY.com:
"Self-esteem"
GEOLANI: I'm humble but cocky when I want to be.
GANGSTASPARTY.com: "Snap-music" (aka the new South style of music)
GEOLANI: Snap??? I fucks wit Paul Wall … (what is snap music?? Laughs)
GANGSTASPARTY.com: "My goals"
GEOLANI: Just call me G-Diddy !!!! I'm coming!!!
