 INTERVIEW: CEE-ROCK "THE FURY"

CEE-ROCK 'THE FURY' DAVE AMATO (Gangstasparty.com): 1) First Off... I would like to ask U: How did you get your name CEE-ROCK?
CEE-ROCK "THE FURY": It's one of those kind of names that we had back in the dayz. You were either a 'Ski', 'G', 'B', 'Rock', 'Lover', 'Mack' or something like that. The other was to double your name and flip it a bit. For example, if your name was John you would go by 'Johnny John'. My government name starts with a "C" so I went with CEE-ROCK.

DAVE AMATO (Gangstasparty.com): 2) Now introduce us “THE FURY”…
CEE-ROCK "THE FURY": That name from a design from scribblin' on a piece of paper. I was just doodlin' and when I looked at the paper, it looked like a dragon in the form of the letter 'F'. First thing I think of when I think of dragons is Bruce Lee. Then I started thinkin' about his movies and stuff. 'Fist of Fury' was one of my favorite movies and for some reason the name 'Fury' stuck in my head and I couldn't shake it. I simply added it to Cee-Rock and it had a nice ring to it. I've been Cee-Rock "The Fury" for a very loooooong time.

DAVE AMATO (Gangstasparty.com): 3) What is your style?
CEE-ROCK "THE FURY": Meta*4ical intellect mixed with a furyous delivery. I'm bringin' catz the YOWZAH flow.

DAVE AMATO (Gangstasparty.com): 4) Where do u get your inspiration from?
CEE-ROCK "THE FURY":Run-DMC, Public Enemy, Hip-Hop television, life and my popz

DAVE AMATO (Gangstasparty.com): 5) From US to Europe: Do you think it's more difficult to be appreciated in Rap/Hip Hop Game, when you live in Europe?
CEE-ROCK "THE FURY": Nothin' is difficult if you have the right outlets. When you don't have the right connections or the right contacts things can go slowly no matter what part of the globe you're from. It took a minute to get out the starting gate but now I'm burnin' rubber. I do think that overseas tend to appreciate Hip-Hop a bit more than it does in the states currently. Let me break it down....the way Hip-Hop 'used to be' in the states is what it currently is right now overseas. You get that same vibe and feelin' like when you watched 'Beat Street', 'Crush Groove' or 'Wild Style' for the first time. It's that kind of vintage vibe that I am missin' back in the US.

DAVE AMATO (Gangstasparty.com): 6) How would u describe your debut album titled “Bringin' Da' Yowzah!!!”? What’s the reason for this title? Who are the guests?
CEE-ROCK "THE FURY": YOWZAH is one of those interjectional wordz that's used to emphasize somethin' big. It's the highest form of flattery, intensity, talent, etc. If you come across a bag filled with a million dollars...that's YOWZAH!!!. If you do a winning hook shot from half court during a basketball game with only 2 seconds left in the game...that's YOWZAH!!! When you're rockin' a crowd of thousands at a show and they follow your every word and screamin' your name as well as their headz off...that's YOWZAH!!!. That's what I bring everytime I'm in the vocal booth or at a live show.

The guests artist are Promoe (from 'Looptroop), Late & 10Shott (from 'Wolftown Recordings'), Coole High (from Brooklyn), Tah Phrum Duh Bush (from Brooklyn) and Mikey D (formerly of 'Main Source'). Tah, Coole and I are also in a crew together collectively known as 3DA which stands for '3 Dyffrent Anglez'.

DAVE AMATO (Gangstasparty.com): 7) U have performed both in USA and in Europe but .. Which is the track that you like performing live the most?
CEE-ROCK "THE FURY": That would probably be "Kill Da' Killin'", "Anderson Iz Nice", "Certified Partywrecker" and "Spitfyre".

DAVE AMATO (Gangstasparty.com): 8) How did U hook up with Nas/Puff Daddy (video: “Hate Me Now”)?
CEE-ROCK "THE FURY": That was pretty easy because the video was made right across the street from where I live. The scene where I can be seen in the video went down on Linden Boulevard. Hype Williams is from around my way. You can see a photo of me and Hype Williams on my album artwork. I had no idea that I was even in the video until I got over to Sweden. The video wasn't done yet when I left New York to head overseas. When I got over there, catz were tellin' me like, "Yo, I seen you actin' up in the Nas/Puff video." He wasn't Diddy at the time. You know you can be at a video shoot for hours and still get cut out of it when it comes down to the editing booth. That's what happened to me when I was at LL Cool J's 'Loungin'' video shoot a few years back. I didn't make the final cut. (LOL)

DAVE AMATO (Gangstasparty.com): 9) Is there a rapper or producer that U would like to work with?
CEE-ROCK "THE FURY": There are a few: Premier, Dr. Dre, DJ Shadow, Prince Paul, RZA, Erick Sermon, Alchemist, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Large Pro, Marley Marl, Pete Rock, Pharell, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Hank Shocklee and J-Dilla (R.I.P.). I'm open to all collaboration projects with 'talented' emcees/producers currently in the industry.
